This policy explains how NewsHouse (“we”, “us”), at newshouse.in, handles personal information.

Information we collect

  • Messages you send us. If you use our contact form we receive your name, email address, chosen topic and message, and use them only to reply and handle your request. Messages are delivered to our editorial inbox by email.
  • Technical information. Our hosting provider and caching service log information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested to run and secure the site. Our security software records the IP addresses of failed login attempts.
  • Cookies and similar technologies set by us and by Google’s advertising services — see below and our Cookie Policy.

We do not require registration, we do not sell personal information, and comments are not enabled.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies or similar identifiers to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites and to measure ad performance. Where the law requires it — including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — you are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent message before personalised advertising is used, and you can change your choice at any time. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and opt out of personalised ads at adssettings.google.com or, for many vendors, at aboutads.info.

Why we process data

We process contact-form data to respond to you, technical data to keep the site secure and working, and advertising data on the basis of your consent where consent is required. For users in India, we handle personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023; for users in the EEA and UK, under the GDPR and UK GDPR.

How long we keep information

Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with your request and any follow-up. Security logs are kept for a limited period.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us run the site — our web host, email delivery service and Google (for advertising) — or where required by law.

Your rights and grievances

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, to withdraw consent and to raise a grievance. To make a request or complaint, use our contact form and choose “Privacy request”; we aim to respond within 30 days. You may also approach your local data-protection authority.

Children

NewsHouse is a general news site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above.
